Nairobi, Kenya is both home and school for orphans of all ages. Started by Salome Wambui Muturi (now known as "Grace") several years ago when a few orphans needed a place to stay. Today Grace has 300 children living and studying together in eight tiny rooms in the Keyoli neighborhood. These students currently sleep on cement classroom floors with out bedding and share three toilettes. They do not have a kitchen, dining room,or enough school supplies. All the teachers are volunteers. Food is donated and often inadequate to feed the children. The building is very overcrowded. A makeshift classroom and shelter has been built from scraps on the roof to expand the space.
Up on the roof they cook their food in two large pots on a wood fire. Beans and corn are the staple of their diet and most months they lack basic nourishment.
Daisy's visited in Nov 2007 and Oct. 2009 to documented conditions. She found an abundance of spirit and courage in these children who persevere. They pursue their studies diligently. Charming the World donated $1000 for food which got them through the riots as well as necessities like shoes, clothes, underwear, basic medicine, tooth brushes, school supplies and sanitary napkins. We seek financial support for them. We are confident that they will achieve better lives and mentor others once receiving an education. This is a long term project facilitated in conjunction with Kensington Cares and Bright Future Children. Our 2010 goal for dormitory and supplies is a minimum of $50,000. Individual sponsorship is available $540 annually..See the book about By Grace Become a sponsor and you can receive a free copy of the book with your name printed on the donors page.Profits from book sales go to By Grace This is a great investment in Kenya's future. These children have the will to succeed and to help others. Lets give them an opportunity to bless our lives and others through our support.

Golden Hearts
Arusha Tanzania.
Some lovely women have opened their home to some deeply impoverished children. When they looked up they had 100 and no money, food or school supplies. The children here were remarkable and so were the women who provide them care. Charming the World is funding their uniforms, school supplies, regular food drops for six months while we do a feasibility study for building a learning center and dorm. An initial $6000 for the basic food and supplies is needed while we develop a long term plan. See the book about Golden Hearts
Irbaan Primary School
Maasai Mara, Kenya
Irbaan Primary School opened with three classrooms in November 2007 thanks to the generosity of international donors. But this is just a start.
The school, which serves communities spread out for over the vast grasslands of the Mara region in Kenya, is still in need of ongoing support to provide a quality education to the hundreds of children in the area. More classrooms are needed to accommodate all the children and school supplies from textbooks to desks are in short supply. The well that was added in 2008 has kept the community alive in these dire conditions of drought. The 2010 goal is to provide clean energy and help build a permaculture solutions to provide fresh and badly needed food. We were lucky to secure crucial funding for a fresh water well and kitchen facilities for hot lunch for children provided by a Canadian Christian Organization. Children walk up to 7 kilometers each way (often on an empty stomach) just to get to school, for a lunch. Scholarship funding for children too poor to afford the basics. Consider sponsoring a child for $250 a year . This is an opportunity for the first generation of Maasai girls to go to school, as their young fathers appreciate what education did for them. This generation values education and need a chance to end the brutality of genital mutilation and poverty. An exciting project that is sure to be a great gift to anyone involved. Join us.
